1. Centre Moves SC, Demands Return of Undisputed Ayodhya Land to Owners

The Centre on Tuesday, 29 January, moved the Supreme Court seeking its permission to return the non-disputed part of the 67 acres of land, acquired by the central government around the disputed site in 1993, to the owners/occupiers.

The plea has reportedly been filed on the basis of a request by the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas – a trust formed by the VHP in 1993 to promote construction of a Ram temple.

The Delhi's Patiala House Court has issued summons to journalist Priya Ramani as an accused in the defamation case filed by MJ Akbar after she accused him of sexual harassment.
