Did Rahul Say He’ll Be PM if Congress is Single Largest Party in 2019?

Rahul Gandhi, for the first time, reportedly accepted – albeit off camera – that he hopes of sitting in the prime minister’s chair after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. On Tuesday, 8 May, Gandhi, who is on a campaign trail in Karnataka’s Bengaluru, said he will become the prime minister if the Congress emerges as the single largest party in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

“Yes, why not”, the Congress president said on being asked if he can become the prime minister in 2019, according to ANI.

However, during a press conference, when he was asked about his hopes of being PM in 2019, Gandhi chose to focus on the upcoming Karnataka elections.
