QWrap: I-T Raid at The Quint; Rahul Renews Attack on Rafale Deal

1. Search & Survey by I-T Officers at The Quint & Raghav Bahl’s Home
Income Tax officers on Thursday, 11 October, entered the office of Quintillion Media Pvt Ltd in Noida, which runs the website The Quint and is owned by Raghav Bahl. According to the I-T officer leading the team, they are conducting a “search” on one floor of the office, and a “survey” on the other.
I-T officers are also present at the residence of The Quint’s Editor-in-Chief Raghav Bahl and CEO Ritu Kapur, and the office of Quintype (another company within the same corporate group), and are also conducting a survey at The News Minute (which Quintillion Media holds a stake in) in Bengaluru.
At a press conference in Delhi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi spoke about the Income Tax raids at The Quint’s premises.

2. Clear-Cut Corruption Case Against PM Modi: Rahul Gandhi on Rafale
Asserting that there's “a clear-cut case of corruption against the Prime Minister of India", Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, 11 October, renewed his attack on the Narendra Modi government over the Rafale controversy.
This came a day after a fresh investigation by French news organisation Mediapart unearthed an internal Dassault document, according to which "a senior management figure of the French group told staff representatives that the joint venture with Reliance was agreed as a 'compensation' in the Rafale deal and it was both 'imperative and obligatory' for Dassault in securing the fighter contract".
3. Can’t Comment on MJ Akbar, But Support Women’s Courage: Sitharaman
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in an interview to CNN-News18, said that she is not the correct person to comment on the sexual harassment allegations against Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs MJ Akbar.
At least ten journalists have accused Akbar of harassment and inappropriate behaviour at workplace.
Speaking to the media, BJP minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi said, “The question is not about resignation. Question is when I accuse someone, it should be proved. Every woman has a right to accuse and investigation should also be done. Women have presented their versions, men also have right to present their version.”
