1. Delhi Suffers ‘Death by Breath’

A thick layer of smog has enveloped Delhi, and weather officials have repeatedly been issuing warnings about the falling air quality.

The level of pollutant PM2.5 – particles that can penetrate the lungs and cause respiratory diseases – was at a "hazardous" 644 in some parts of Delhi on Monday, 5 November morning, reported NDTV. This is twenty times the safe limit.

2. Video of PM Modi Asking Child to Say ‘Rahul Pappu Hai’ Is Fake

A video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi guiding a young child to a podium and purportedly encouraging her to say “Rahul Gandhi pappu hai” is being circulated on Facebook.

The viral video is in fact a doctored version of the original, which actually shows the child at PM Modi’s Navsari rally in September 2016.

The girl tells the crowd, "I am Gauri, the differently-abled daughter of Puja and Yogi Raj Shardul. I study in Class 1." Then she simply recites Ramayana to a cheering crowd.

So, don’t be a WebQoof! In the run up to the 2018 elections, be wary of misinformation being spread on social media.

3. Sabarimala Temple Gates Open Amid Protests & Heavy Security

A thick security has taken over Sabarimala, as the gates of the Lord Ayyappa temple opened on Monday, 5 November, for a special puja. The puja started at 5 pm and will end 6 November 10 pm.

While the protesters of SC’s Sabarimala verdict have urged media organisations not to send women journalists to the temple, the Kerala High Court on Monday, 5 November, observed that the devotees and media should not be blocked at the Sabarimala temple.

Police had also banned assembly of four or more people in Sabarimala and nearby areas. Section 144 was imposed in the region on 3 November, and is expected to stay till 6 November.

4. Sidharth, Ananya, KJo Flag off B’wood’s Diwali Party Season

Diwali is around the corner and the celeb parties have begun. Designer Sandeep Khosla of the Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla duo flagged off the party season with one of the first star-studded Diwali bashes this year. 5. India’s Favourite Virat Kohli Turns 30

Cricketer Virat Kohli, who has been rested for the T20I series vs Windies, celebrated his 30th birthday on Monday, 5 November.

The Indian skipper was the highest run-scorer in the recently-concluded five-match ODI series vs West Indies.

Virat made 453 runs at an average of 151 with three hundreds against the Windies.

During the series Virat also joined the 10,000-run club in the 50-over format, and broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record to become the fastest batsman in history to achieve the feat.
