1. ISRO Spy Case: SC Grants Rs 50 Lakh Compensation to Narayanan
The Supreme Court on Friday, 14 September, announced its judgment on a plea filed by former space scientist, Nambi Narayanan, to prosecute the police for framing him in the ISRO spy scandal. The apex court granted Rs 50 lakh compensation to Narayanan for being arrested by the Kerala Police 24 years ago after being falsely implicated in the ISRO espionage case.
Apart from the Rs 50 lakh compensation, the apex court also ordered setting up a constitutional committee headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice DK Jain to look into the role of the police in framing the false charges against the ISRO scientist.
In 1994, Narayanan was charged with leaking vital defence secrets to Maldivian intelligence officers. Defence officials said the secrets pertained to highly confidential “flight test data” from experiments with rocket and satellite launches. Nambi Narayanan was one of two scientists who was accused of selling ISRO secrets for millions.

2. “Will Pay BJP Back With Interest”: Bhim Army Chief Azad Upon Release
Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan, who was jailed under the National Security Act (NSA) by the UP government, was released from prison at 2:24 am on Friday, 14 September.
The Uttar Pradesh government ordered the early release of Azad on Thursday. Hours after his release, the Bhim Army chief, on Friday, held a press conference.
While addressing the media, Azad said that he would appeal to the people not to vote for the BJP. Saying that he will not contest the elections, Azad added, “All that I had to go through, I will return it with interest in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.”
Two aides of Azad, whose jail term was till 14 October, will also be released early.

3. 19-Yr-Old Allegedly Gang-Raped in Haryana, Mother Demands Justice
A 19-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by four to five people at Kanina in Haryana's Mahendergarh district, the local police told PTI on Thursday, 13 September.
Speaking to ANI about the case, Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday, 14 September, said that the law would take its own course, and whoever was found guilty would be punished.
The survivor was allegedly kidnapped on Wednesday by the accused who arrived in a car. She was later taken to a secluded place where she was gang-raped after being offered a drink laced with sedatives, police said. The accused later left her near a bus stop in Kanina.
According to NDTV, the survivor, a second-year college student with a strong academic record, was kidnapped on her way to a coaching centre near her village in Rewari. She has reportedly informed the police that all the rapists were from her village.

4. Why Is Virat Kohli Resting During Asia Cup?

5. Manmarziyaan – Anurag Kashyap Film Minus Desi Kattas and Cussing
Manmarziyaan at first glance seems to be most unlike Anurag Kashyap and that’s understandable.
It starts with a song. In fact, there is music waiting for us at every turn and twist of the plot. There are no blood-thirsty gangs of men trying to mark their territory. No desi katta, bullets or cuss words exhaled out.
However, Anurag’s obsession with flawed characters and their maverick motivations continues. Only the fight, this time, is internal. To put it in very Imtiaz Ali-esque terms, the conflict is with one’s own heart and the various directions one gets pulled in when you completely surrender to its machinations.
