Speaking to The Quint on the first-of-its-kind press conference held by four senior judges of the Supreme Court on Friday, 12 January, Supreme Court lawyer Karuna Nundy stressed the importance of dissent and said she was proud to serve in a court where top judges “have the constitutional spine and the integrity to stand up.”
In a press conference held by Justices Jasti Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan Lokur and Kurian Joseph said that the situation in the top court was "not in order" and many "less desirable things" have taken place.
Sharing a letter, the four judges appealed to the nation to preserve the independence of the judiciary, asserting that the "Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra has left us with no option but to go public about what is going on within the collegium."
