'Raja Bhaiya's' reputation is at stake in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. The Quint talks to one of the prominent faces of UP politics – Raghuraj Pratap Singh – who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for Jansatta Dal (Loktantrik).

Raja Bhaiya formed a party to contest the Pratapgarh and Kaushambi seats, after beginning his political career in 1993. On being asked why he felt the need to form a party, Raja Bhaiya said, "I will complete 25 years in politics on 30 November. 80% of respondents we surveyed suggested that I should form a party. We haven't formed an alliance with anyone.”

Recently, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had called Raja Bhaiya a "football of politics." When asked to respond to that comment, he said that only Akhilesh Yadav would be able to explain such a comment. He also said that his main aim is to prepare for the 2022 elections.
