The Jadavpur University Arts Students Union is controlled by the ‘independents’. These students don’t identify with any larger political party, but that doesn’t mean their concerns are just local.
The Quint caught up with some of them to chat about Kanhaiya Kumar, Rohith Vemula and caste politics in India’s universities. The students also weighed in on the current elections and the lack of opportunities for them in West Bengal.
