Captained the under-19 cricket team in the 2016 world cup, has opened for Gujarat Lions in IPL 10 and has been Jharkhand Ranji team’s star since 2014 – all this and Ishan Kishan is just 18 years old.

He was born in Patna and later moved to the Jharkhand with his family. Nurtured under the guidance of his coach Uttam Mazumdar since he was 5 years old, Kishan made his Ranji debut when he was just 16.

Ishan was appointed captain of the under-19 cricket team during the 2016 World Cup campaign, but couldn’t click with the bat in the tournament. He then turned to coach Rahul Dravid who told him to focus on working hard and not his performance.

Guided by the likes of Jharkhand captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Gujarat Lions skipper Suresh Raina, Ishan Kishan is being touted as the future of Indian cricket.
