India and US Work Shoulder-to-Shoulder On Global Issues: PM Modi
US & India are cooperating on issues of global concern, including nuclear security, climate change and terrorism.
US President Barack Obama says he has discussed with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi how to bring the landmark Paris climate change agreement into force as quickly as possible.
Obama was speaking alongside Modi after leaders of the world’s two largest democracies met in the Oval Office on 7 June 2016.
He says they also discussed financing for India’s ambitious plans to expand solar power and clean energy.
Modi says that the US and India are cooperating on issues of global concern, including nuclear security, climate change and terrorism.
He refers to Obama as “my close friend” and says the two nations will continue working “shoulder-to-shoulder.”
