Faced with the social restrictions of a Hindu-Muslim wedding, a teenaged couple from Haruli village in Sangli district of Maharashtra, committed suicide in Agra.
The Muslim boy and the Hindu girl jumped in front of a moving train and ended their lives in Agra. The passers-by were quick to alert police, who next informed their families.
The couple captured their last moments sitting in front of Taj Mahal before taking the decision to end their lives.
According to reports, the girl was the daughter of a Shiv Sena leader. Police are currently investigating the case and the bodies are sent for post-mortem.
