Heatwave Strikes Kanpur, Hill-Station Shimla Warmer Than Usual
Heat wave has gripped Kanpur and even Shimla residents and tourists are complaining about the soaring mercury.
Day temperatures rose by one to two degrees across Himachal Pradesh on Monday as weather remained dry and cool breeze swept the region.
The mercury breached 27.5 degrees in Shimla and the minimum temperature rose to 17.3 degrees.
Some relief from scorching heat is likely in the next few days in Himachal Pradesh as the local Meteorological office has predicted rains/thunderstorm /snow at isolated places in mid and higher hills for five days from May 3 onwards.
Major parts of Uttar Pradesh continued to experience scorching heat with weather remaining dry on Monday.
The weather office said day temperatures were markedly above normal in Kanpur division.
According to the forecast, the weather was most likely to remain dry over the state and heat wave was likely at isolated places over east UP.
