Cop Caught Casually Slapping Shopkeeper in the Face on Poll Day
The policeman was apparently angry that he kept his shop open during the third phase of West Bengal elections.
A policeman made a shopkeeper shut shop in Shyampukur area of Kolkata in West Bengal on Thursday after giving him a slap. Reports say the cop was angry that the shopkeeper had kept his shop open on polling day.
According to the Election Commission of India report, no activity should take place within 200 metres of a polling booth.
However, the reports of the reason behind the assault have not been independently verified.
The third phase of elections in West Bengal saw clashes between TMC and CPI(M) workers that led to the death of a worker and a polling agent.
