Chikungunya Doesn’t Kill, Says Satyendra Jain as Toll Rises to 10
Even as the tenth death from Chikungunya was reported in Delhi on Wednesday, governments entered into a bizarre blame game, trying to shirk responsibility. An 80-year-old man succumbed to the vector-born disease, while Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain claimed there’s never been a Chikungunya outbreak. Meanwhile, the Congress and the BJP attacked the Kejriwal government for not taking adequate steps, and Kejriwal responded by saying that the Delhi Chief Minister had been left with no power to even “buy a pen”!

Spat Within Govt, Not Family Feud: Akhilesh on Row With Shivpal
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday quelled talks of a family feud a day after he stripped his uncle Shivpal of key ministerial portfolios, instead describing the tussle as a “fight within the government”.
Sharp differences in the Yadav family came out into the open after Akhilesh shunted out state Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal, considered close to Shivpal, barely two months after his appointment.
