A 40-year-old woman miraculously survives after being dragged along by a speeding joyrider who then smashed into another car on New Year’s Day.
Kanta Anand was walking out of her home in Pink Apartments in Dwarka area of Delhi, when a 17-year-old boy ploughed into her. She was then dragged by the white Ertiga car before horror footage shows it ramming into a black Wagon R pulling out of the junction.
The CCTV images show the woman being catapulted into the Wagon R as it flips onto its side. Incredibly Kanta Anand only suffered a fractured hip and following surgery is now stable in hospital.
The driver attempted to flee and reverses away but the locals grabbed him, thrashed him and handed him over to the police. His parents were attending a religious ceremony and had no hint that their son had taken the car for the joyride.
The police has urged the juvenile board to treat the boy as an adult.
