IPL’s Big Stats: Gayle, Amla’s Hits and Malinga’s Big Miss

More than two weeks into the IPL tamasha and lots of movement in the table. Lots of things to talk about. But what are the big numbers from the league so far?

Set a target of 184 by Gujarat Lions, KKR openers Gautam Gambhir and Chriss Lynn carried their bats to win the match – the 184, also the highest opening partnership in IPL history

3. 15.3

15. 3 overs was all Mumbai Indians needed to chase down Kings xi Punjab’s 199. The run rate – an amazing 12.84!

4. 51

The number of runs Hashim Amla blasted, off Lasith Malinga’s 16 deliveries on Thursday night. Before this, the most any batsman had scored off Malinga in a match as 36! The Mumbai bowler has now conceded 109 runs in his last eight overs this IPL.

5. 10

The number of Rising Pune Supergiant batsmen who were caught in the match against Delhi Daredevils. The entire squad wiped out – the first time ever in the IPL
