At a restaurant in Gurugram, southwest of New Dehli, customers don't pay for food, but time. Footage shows customers taking advantage of this pay-per-minute concept, piling up their plates from a special 'Time Buffet', before eating against the clock.
The promotion, available on Mondays and Tuesdays at People & Co. restaurant in Gurugram, allows customers to eat as much as they want, with the final cheque being only for the time they spend over their meal.
Customers are charged just 15 rupees per minute (0.21 EUR, 0.22 USD) for the buffet, which includes a diverse range of cuisine including Italian, Indian and Chinese.
One customer, Rajat, said that he was pleased with the buffet, commenting, "It was such a big meal in such a short span of time and some nice biyrani, some rotis, yummy kebabs, and I'm just closing in at about 7-8 minutes". Rajat's meal will set him back just 120 rupees (1.60 EUR, 1.70 USD), which he rated as a "pretty good deal".
Harmeet, the manager of the restaurant said that the deal has been well received so far, "people are very enthusiastic" he said, noting that the concept that been particularly popular among young people.
