The handset was officially launched nearly two weeks ago. However, global delivery might get affected.

A Samsung official told Yonhap, a South Korean news agency, that while the issue affects only 0.1 per cent of the handsets, they are recalling all devices. Clearly, they are not willing to compromise.

The recall is ill-timed as the new iPhone is set to launch on 7 September. Apple is Samsung’s biggest competitor.

Consumers in India who pre-ordered the phone and were expecting to receive it by 3 September, will have to wait till around 10 September, store representatives said.
