Xiaomi to Launch Phone with a 108-Megapixel Camera in India Soon

The phone may be called Redmi Note 10 and comes with five cameras at the back with a 108-megapixel primary sensor.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be launching its next flagship in India touted to be called the Redmi Note 10. This is the phone that has been making headlines globally thanks to its 108-megapixel primary sensor on the back.

Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain confirmed the above via a tweet. The official name of the phone for the Indian market has not been revealed nor when exactly it will be launched.

To put it in perspective, a cameraphone like the Nokia 8.2 has 64 megapixels, while brands like Vivo, Oppo and even Samsung have hit 48 megapixels for their camera sensors. The iPhone 11 uses multiple 12-megapixel cameras.

The “Redmi Note 10” has already been launched in China and the European market. Prices for the same start at EUR 549 ( Rs 43,000 approx.) going up to EUR 649 (Rs 51,000 approx.) for the Pro version.

The phone has been launched in the international market in three colours: White, Green, and Black.

What sets the Mi Note 10 apart from the rest is that it comes with a penta-camera setup at the back with a 108-megapixel primary sensor. This is the largest sensor ever introduced on a smartphone until now.

Apart from the above, it also comes with a 20-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 5-megapixel telephoto lens, a 12-megapixel portrait shooter and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel shooter.

It comes with a 6.47-inch Super AMOLED curved edge FHD+ display which also supports HDR 10.

The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 730G processor supports by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which cannot be expanded. It runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 9 Pie.

The Redmi Note 10 packs a 5,260 mAh battery bundled with 30W fast-charging support.
