As India plays the World Cup 2019 semi finals against New Zealand in England on Tuesday, digital streaming provider Hotstar decided to go offline multiple times, much to the angst of the viewers.

The streaming platform has frequently claimed to be championing heavy user bandwidth, but this time its claims were found wanting.

The outage, affecting over 70 million claimed users on its platform will have seen their screen going blank with the aforementioned message. And just like every other outage that people come across, social media didn’t take a lot of time to notice the issue and post about it on the Twitterverse.

One user shared his frustration about the service conking off at the wrong time.

Responding to his tweet, Hotstar confirmed the technical glitch affecting its users for a few seconds.

Hotstar has previously managed to hold its service when over 18 million were claimed to be watching the finals of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 earlier this year. It remains to be the seen what Hotstar has to share about the latest tech glitch at its end, especially on a crucial day like this.
