Apple’s most powerful computer, the Mac Pro has been finally given a much-awaited update at the WWDC 2019, about six years after we saw the previous one (introduced in 2013).

The new Mac Pro houses an Intel Xeon processor, with up to 28 cores, uses about 300W power and comes with heavy-duty cooling systems in its stainless steel frame.

The new Mac Pro, however, has a rather meagre internal storage system, maxing out at 1.5 TB, according to the company. It has 12 (dual in-line memory module) DIMM slots, for housing RAM cards and has four GPU’s. The CPU unit also has three fans upfront and one blower on the side for cooling duties.

Apple said there will be an I/O module as well, that will add two more Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB ports and a 3.5mm audio jack. For the creators, there will also be an ‘Afterburner’ video editing card that is capable of producing an eye-popping 6 billion pixels per second.

Apple’s new professional computer will cost $5,999. For that money, you get 32 GB of RAM, an Octa-Core Intel Xeon processor, a Radeon Pro 580X GPU and 250GB of SSD storage.

To go along with the CPU unit, the company has also launched a new 32-inch 6K monitor that starts at $4,999, without a stand. If you want a stand, you’ll have to pay another $999, or maybe just buy the iPhone XS instead.
