Indian startup cab service Ola has decided to shut down its grocery and food delivery service. According to Times of India, the taxi-hailing firm has decided to close Ola store and Ola cafe.

Ola provided home delivery of grocery and food in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and National Capital Region (NCR). The icons of Ola cafe and Ola grocery have been removed from the Ola Cabs mobile application.

Ola conveyed this news to their customers through an email.

In this time, we have also brought to you a range of experiments and initiatives by leveraging the unique strengths we have in terms of technology and logistic capabilities. Ola Store was one such experiment that brought you groceries from stores around you within minutes. As we strengthen our focus on building mobility for a billion people, we are drawing this experiment to a close and taking learnings from these to serve you better in the time to come

The services were launched in March 2015 and barely lasted a year.
