Mobile phone manufacturer Micromax opened its new manufacturing facility which will have the capacity to manufacture one million mobile phones per month.

The unit, which opened at Fab City here, currently employs 700 people and will increase the number to 1,000 in next two months.

Spread over 19 acres, this is the second manufacturing plant of Bhagati Products in India.

The company made an initial investment in the unit which also has provision for expansion to manufacture LED TV and other electronic equipment in the future.

Micromax has been running a stable ship which had failed to move beyond its corners in recent years, but as the company states, there is more to come. In one of its biggest product showcase, Micromax has taken its time to overhaul its current identity, add more products to its consumer electronics catalogue and start selling via its Micromax online store as well.

Just this week the company had a major makeover and launched its new phones, the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro, in India.
