With most of the big launches for the start of 2019 done with, it’s time to focus on the next set of products that’ll be making their way in the latter part of the year.

This time we’re specifically looking at the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 from Samsung, marking ten years since the first Note device was unveiled in front of the world. Reports suggest the Note 10 will be launched on 7 August at a big global event and in India probably a few weeks after that.

We’ve already got a decent idea of how the next Note device will look like and here’s a round-up of all the rumours and leaks, including features we’ve heard about till now.

Change in Design, Again

The upcoming Note device from Samsung will be its tenth-generation model to make its way to the consumers.

If most renders of the Galaxy Note 10 turn out to be the real deal, then we’re looking at a device that’s losing all of its bezel (well, almost) on the front, giving the edge screen a lot of appeal.

The image above clearly shows Samsung using a single front-facing camera, without a notch or any bezels, making sure that the Galaxy Note 10 offers wider screen space to view content.

Even at the back, you’re likely to get a vertical setup of three cameras, while the fingerprint sensor goes underneath the display. If the company comes anywhere close to this design, a lot of people might be tempted to buy it.

Display Continues to Excite

The upcoming Note device from Samsung will be its tenth-generation model to make its way to the consumers.

Nobody’s ever going to question Samsung for its display prowess. And it’s likely to continue when the Galaxy Note 10 is revealed to the world in less than two months from now.

We mostly expect the Note 10 to sport a screen sized between 6.4-inch and 6.7-inch with focus on high screen to body ratio.

Resolution wise, phones don’t really need anything beyond the 1440 pixels quality, and by using the Super AMOLED panel, even that tends to feel overwhelming, with high colour contrasts becoming synonymous with Samsung displays over the years.

Flagship Level Hardware, But...

Snapdragon 855 will definitely get the limelight, but for users in India, they will have to make do with the Exynos variant, as always. The phone’s chipset will likely be paired with 6GB/8GB and probably a 12GB RAM option, with storage maxing out at 1TB.

It’ll be dual-SIM supporting and a large size battery in tow as well. Having said that, we’d really want Samsung to offer a faster charging option with the Note 10, something that a flagship phone merits in 2019.

But the most concerning news for buyers will be the absence of the headphone jack on the Galaxy Note 10. Most renders and design of the phone have given us clarity that regular headphones will not be compatible with this one.

The Triple Camera Brigade

We’ve already seen triple cameras at the back of the Galaxy S10+ from Samsung earlier this year. This same is likely to be offered on the Galaxy Note 10 as well, albeit with sensor upgrades, which could bump up the megapixel count to match what the likes of Huawei are offering now.

Samsung’s cameras have been good but ever since we’ve seen what Google’s Pixel phone offers, they’ve been left behind. And what better way to catch up to its rivals than go for the kill with the Note 10 cameras.

Another $1000 Phone on the Cards?

Keeping Samsung’s pricing history in mind (Galaxy Note 9 launched for under 70K), we’re hopeful that the company can refresh its Note series to offer excitement to buyers. And even the industry is looking for some more innovation from the South Korean mobile powerhouse. All of this with a price tag that doesn’t come out as exorbitant.

Also, Samsung can show it means business by offering a product few months before Apple and Google showcase theirs respective smartphones to the world.
