Reliance Jio Gives More Data at Rs 50 Less With Republic Day Offer

The latest data confirm that Jio has 160 million users on its network as on December 2017.

Reliance Jio is gearing up for better and better things in 2018, with its latest 4G data plans that as per the company give you more data for less money. The Jio Republic Day offer also comes with revised goodies, giving you 50 percent more data for same validity period of 28, 70, 84 and 91 days.

The new Jio 4G plans will be available from 26 January onwards.

The Republic Day offer is Jio’s follow up to its New Year offer which was offering 1GB per day at Rs 149, the most affordable amongst all telecom operators in the country.

With its new set of 4G data plans, Jio has gotten rid of the 1GB per day bracket and instead now you get to choose between 1.5 or 2GB per day monthly plans.

As you can see above, Jio has also added an entry-level plan for Rs 98 that’s offering 2GB of data with a validity of 28 days. Not sure who Jio is targeting with that one, especially when all other tariff plans are bundling massive amount of data for longer validity period, but here’s what they feel about this move:

This move comes on the back of Jio’s first profitable quarter, since its commercial operation in 2017.

The telco has managed to upstage the incumbents like Airtel by floating above the water, and attaining an average revenue per user (ARPU) of Rs 154, compared to Rs 123 of Airtel over the past quarter.

The Ambani-owned telco has also confirmed that it has 160 million users on its network as of December 2017.
