Earlier this month, Microsoft had unveiled its new laptop series alongside a dual-screen device, the Surface Neo. The company also unveiled ‘Windows 10X’ which will run on the Surface Neo which is a foldable laptop.
Just recently, WalkingCat on Twitter spotted details about the upcoming Windows operating system which Microsoft has accidentally leaked on the internet.
Though the details have now been taken down from the same webpage, it wasn’t before WalkingCat was able to take screenshots of the details and put it up on Twitter.
One key takeaway from the leak suggests that Windows 10X will offer support for clamshell laptops as well. Also, the company said that Windows 10X will run on dual-screen devices as Microsoft has optimised the software in a way that it will offer a more seamless and flexible experience to the user.
Some of the other changes that have been revealed in the leak suggest changes made to the Start Menu.
The Start Menu will be called Launch in Windows 10X which will perform all major searches in the OS and will also highlight web results, available apps and specific files on your device.
It will also show you a list of recommended applications based on your usage pattern.
Windows 10X will also make improvements to its existing facial recognition system, Hello, as the screen will immediately come to the authentication screen unlike Windows 10 where you had to dismiss the lock screen before authenticating.
So as soon as the screen wakes up, Windows Hello will automatically recognise the user and grant access.
As per the leak, Microsoft will also add a ‘Modern File Explorer’ which will come with all the files available in the user’s cloud services like Office365 and even OneDrive.
