TorQue: Alibaba’s First Smart Car, NuvoSport Gets Facelift & More

1. Alibaba’s First Smart Car, the RX5 is Available for Pre-Booking

On Thursday, the Alibaba Group launched a first-of-its-kind “internet-connected car” which will be scaled up for mass production in the near future.

The YunOS-enabled car named “OS’Car RX5” has been developed in collaboration with SAIC Motor Corporation. The car is able to obey direct commands through smart voice control, creating a natural and safer driving environment. Audio is the primary mode for controlling the system.

For a car that would be priced in the millions, Ferrari’s LaFerrari is sure to have broken many records this week.

The convertible variant of the LaFerrari was only showcased for the first time recently, and it has already sold out. The new limited edition special series will be available with a removable carbon-fibre hard top and a removable soft top, as informed by the auto maker.

That’s exactly what Nissan claims to have done recently, when they managed to impress a prospective customer by showcasing the features of one of their recent models.
