1. Ducati Multistrada 950
Launched in 2017, the Multistrada 950 was Ducati's attempt to make adventurer tourers lighter, more accessible and affordable.
It has got twin headlamps, a long nose and the heavy fairing upfront makes it look identical to the bigger Multistrada 1200, sans the LED headlamps. The 950 does, however, have a longer wheelbase than its big brother.
The 950 has a 19-inch alloy wheel at the front while a 17-inch wheel does the job at the rear.
The bike has a 937cc liquid cooled Testastretta engine that makes about 112bhp of power and 96Nm of torque. The bike also has different riding modes like Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro for you to choose as per your riding conditions.

2. Royal Enfield Himalayan
Royal Enfield bikes are known for their touring capabilities. Keeping this in mind, the company launched the more capable Himalayan to tackle the tough terrains suited for off-road conditions.
The adventure tourer design adopted by Royal Enfield has received mixed reviews.
The bike looks quite good in flesh - like a proper adventure tourer that is always ready to tackle the terrains. The round headlights add to the whole authentic adventure tourer appeal.
The Himalayan uses a new 411cc oil-cooled engine that makes about 23bhp of power and 32Nm of torque that clocks a top speed of 129kmph.

3. Kawasaki Versys 650
Kawasaki India introduced the 2018 Versys 650 late last year. This is Kawasaki's mid-range adventure tourer that has been refreshed with cosmetic tweaks when it was launched late last year.
The 650cc twin-cylinder engine on the Versys churns out 68bhp of power and 64Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. The Versys also gets Anti-Lock Braking as a standard and the bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.
With its 41mm inverted telescopic forks at the front and an offset monoshock setup with remote spring adjustable preload at the rear, the Versys 650 is one of the more capable adventure tourers in the market.

4. Triumph Tiger XC 800
The most popular adventure tourer in the market, the Triumph Tiger XC 800 is one of the best options for off-roading. With the bike's launch, Triumph declared over 200 changes in both cosmetic and mechanical aspects.
Like the 2018 Tiger 1200, the 800's headlights now get slashed horizontal strips of LEDs that add to the bike's aesthetics.
The 800cc liquid-cooled engine makes about 93bhp of power and 79Nm of torque, making it second only to the Multistrada 800 on this list.
In terms of features, the XC 800 gets three different riding modes - road, off-road and a dynamic mode that Triumph is calling 'Configurable Rider'. Apart from that, the bike has also got cruise control and computers on-board that adjust the ergonomics according to the riding conditions.
You get a 12V power socket for you to charge your phone when needed and self-cancelling indicators.

5. BMW G310 GS
The smallest bike on the list, BMW G310 GS is a typically off-road spec bike. You get 180mm of travel on the front forks, and you get a 19-inch wheel up front. It is better at off-roading.
The BMW G 310 GS is probably the only bike of its kind in its price segment at the moment, unless you consider the cheaper Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The bike is powered by a 313cc BMW engine that makes 34bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. The power is delivered to the wheels by a six-speed transmission.
Look wise, the G310 GS stands out from the crowd, the high stance and minimal fairing upfront do add to the adventure tourer feel.

6. Honda Africa Twin
After proving its capabilities at the famous Dakar rally, the Honda Africa Twin was launched by the Japanese automaker recently.
This one however, will be a limited edition bike with only 50 units earmarked for India. The high price is a result of the bike coming to the country via the CKD route.
The Honda Africa Twin is powered by a liquid cooled 998cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 89PS of power and 93Nm of torque.
The bike uses a four-valve Unicam head design. Only the automatic, DCT (dual clutch transmission) equipped version of the Honda Africa Twin is on sale in India.
