The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday, 16 May, announced the line up of commentators for the men’s Cricket World Cup, scheduled to be played in England Wales starting 30 May.
Along with the list of commentators, the press release also mentioned the detailed broadcast plan for the quadrennial even that will bring more than a billion fans closer to the action and players.
The last man to lift the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Michael Clarke, will be making his ICC TV commentary debut alongside some of the game’s most respected broadcasters.
Former England Captain Nasser Hussain who will also be commentating said, “The whole of England and Wales is buzzing with excitement in anticipation of the massive summer of cricket ahead. This edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup promises to be the most entertaining one yet and I cannot wait to be part of this event broadcast and witness history in the making, first hand.”

With 10 teams featuring in the World Cup this time around has a round-robin format with each team playing nine fixtures and the top four teams qualifying for the semi-finals.

The World Cup winner with Pakistan in 1992 further said, “A World Cup comes every four years so players wait for it and do their best to give a memorable performance. I hope we are going to see some stiff competition with the edge of the seat thrillers, high skills and unmatched moments with the best players of the world on show.
The World Cup begins on 30 May and the final will be played on 15 July at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
