Old Trafford, 16 June 2019 - It’s the most sought-after ticket at this (or any other) Cricket World Cup and after weeks of anticipation, the India vs Pakistan fixture is upon on this weekend.
While Team India make their way to Manchester for Sunday’s fixture, following a wash-out against New Zealand on Thursday, here’s a look at what players from other countries think of this great rivalry.
Rajasthan Royals’ Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Oshan Thomas and Ish Sodhi were asked which stadium at the World Cup would have the best atmosphere at the tournament and despite being the home team Jos Buttler’s reply was, “Wherever India Will Pakistan”.
"If you play India or Pakistan in Edgbaston, you’ re playing in Karachi or Delhi. It feels like being there,” Ben Stokes added.
Asked which group match, not featuring his team, he was most looking forward to and Steve Smith picked this Sunday’s big fixture as well.
Predications?
Ben Stokes: India
Steve Smith: India
Jos Buttler: Pakistan
Oshane Thomas: Same (Pakistan)
Ish Sodhi: India… All in. It’s going to be the loudest match over the past decade. I reckon!
