The Russelmania is set to continue during the World Cup in England as the West Indies Cricket board has named the all-rounder in their 15 man squad for the mega event.

Andre Russell has been in stellar form in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premiere League, scoring 392 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 217.77. He has also picked a total of 7 wickets.

The other big name selected for the World Cup is Christopher Henry Gayle. He may be 39 years old, but the “Universe Boss” has been smacking the ball around the park both for the West Indies and the Kings Xl Punjab.

Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine are the big names to have missed the flight to England. Nonetheless, West Indies have picked up a very formidable side and it will be interesting to see how they perform at the World Cup.

Twitter was abuzz after the squad announcement and had mixed reactions. While some called them the most explosive batting unit, others were quick to express their disappointment at the exclusion of Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine and Keemo Paul.
