Tania Sachdev Wins Women’s Commonwealth Chess Title
International Master Tania Sachdev on Sunday, 7 July, bagged the women's title of Commonwealth Chess.
Tania finished with six points in the competition held in the national capital and was tied with Divya Desmukh but was awarded the title on superior tie-break score.
Tania beat V Varshini in the last round to finish with six points in the nine-round tournament.
In the men's section favourite Abhijeet Gupta claimed his fifth title as India swept medals in all 16 sections of the tournament.
