Women Dominate on Day 5

A reasonably good outing for India where women dominated the day. Shuttler PV Sindhu entered the knockout stage, Deepika Kumari entered the round of 16 and boxer Pooja Rani too entered the quarterfinals. However, the women's hockey team lost 4-1 to Great Britain in what was their third straight loss.

The men disappointed. Archers Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav were eliminated and shuttler Sai Praneeth's campaign also came to an end
