The fifteenth day in the month of November continues to be a historic day in Indian cricket, which is more famously known as the day magic started in Indian cricket.

On this day in 1989, Sachin Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi. Till date, Tendulkar is the youngest Indian to make his Test debut at the age of 16 years and 205 days.

Sachin scored only 15 runs in the first innings after being bowled by Waqar Younis, who was also making his debut in the match. The match ended in a draw with Sachin not getting a chance to bat in the second innings.

Exactly, 24 years later in 2013, Sachin walked out to bat in his final innings against Windies in Mumbai. He scored 74 runs in the first innings before being dismissed by Narsingh Deonarine.

Like every year, this time too fans of Sachin flooded the internet with messages and dedication. And among those many fans was Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who took to Instagram to dedicate a message for Sachin Tendulkar.

Virat wrote, “The first day my cricketing inspiration started playing for our country. I was lucky enough to play with him and to be part of his farewell game which was nothing short of magical. To be compared to him is nothing short of embarrassing. Thank you for the memories @sachintendulkar. The G.O.A.T.”

Earlier in the day before the team’s departure for Australia, speaking at a press conference, when asked about his cricketing idol, Kohli again expressed his immense respect for the Master Blaster.

I have one idol and everyone knows who that is.

Earlier this month playing against the Windies in the ODI series, Kohli broke two records held by Sachin Tendulkar.

In the first ODI, he became the fastest batsman to score 60 centuries in international cricket and later in the series he crossed 10,000 ODI runs to surpass Tendulkar to become the fastest batsman to do so.
