Twitter Lauds Rohit Sharma’s ‘Classy’ 22nd ODI Century
Rohit ‘Hitman’ Sharma played an intelligent innings to bring up his 22nd ODI century during the first ODI against Australia in Sydney.
Rohit, along with MS Dhoni, conjured a rescue act after India lost their first three wickets with only four runs on the board. India lost opener Shikhar Dhawan for a first-ball duck while skipper Kohli and Rayudu fell in the same over to Richardson.
From there, Rohit played a matured and a patient innings to bring the Indian innings back on track.
Rohit brought up his century in the 40th over and took only 110 balls. Eventually, he was out for a well-made 133 off 129 balls at a strike rate of 103.11. He scored 10 fours and six maximums.
Rohit Sharma now has equal number of ODI centuries as Sourav Ganguly. Only Tendulkar and Kohli have scored more tons than him among Indians now. Meanwhile, now Rohit has scored a century in his last 10 ODI series.
