Former Australia cricketer and commentator Kerry O'Keefe garnered attention for all the wrong reasons on Day one of the ‘Boxing Day Test’ after he made distasteful comments regarding the first-class cricket structure in India and debutant Mayank Agarwal.

According to Indian fans on twitter, O'Keefe was doing commentary for Fox Sports, along with Mark Waugh and Shane Warne during the third Test match between India and Australia when he made these comments.

When the trio was talking about Mayank Agarwal, who scored a well-made 76 on debut, O'Keefe questioned the quality of first-class cricket in India. According to fans, O’Keefe said the triple hundred that Mayank Agarwal scored in the Ranji Trophy came against some team like ‘Canteen XI’, where the bowlers were some chefs and waiters.

Talking about Mayank’s batting average, even Mark Waugh was heard saying , "his average in India is 50 which is like 40 in Australia."

Indian fans called out O’Keefe for his ‘racist’ comment. Let’s take a look what the fans had to say on Twitter:

Mayank Agarwal has an envious first-class career. After making his first-class debut against Jharkhand in 2013, Mayank has played 46 first-class and 75 List A matches for Karnataka, with an average around 50 in both.

In November 2017, he scored his maiden triple century in first-class cricket, when he was unbeaten on 304 against Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy.
