Day 2 of the India vs Australia Boxing Day Test and after a solid partnership between Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara, Cummins and Starc came to the party post Lunch to send both batsmen back to the hut.

That then meant India had two new batsmen at the crease in the form of vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma, who’s back in the squad after missing the Perth Test due to injury.

Batting on 13 with spinner Nathan Lyon bowling to him, Rohit Sharma had keeper Tim Paine move up to the stumps and share some IPL banter along with Aaron Finch.

‘It would be a toss up for me between the Royals (Rajasthan) and Indians (Mumbai) on who I support. If Rohit hits a six here, I’m changing to Mumbai,’ the stump mic catches Paine saying.

One delivery later, there’s more IPL opinion Paine wants to share and adds, ‘There’s too many problems now with the Royals’.

Not sparing his own team-mate from the sledging, the Aussie skipper then says to Finch, ‘You’ve played for every team tho,’ referring to the fact that Finch has changed franchises more than a few times in the T20 league. He started his IPL stint with Delhi Daredevils then moved to Gujarat Lions, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Pune Warriors, Rajasthan Royals and even played for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
