Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson was dropped from India’s T20I squad for the home series against West Indies that was announced on Thursday, 21 November.
The 25-year-old who was included in the last series against South Africa as specialist batsman had to go out without getting a match as captain Virat Kohli returned to the shortest format.
Sanju chose not to comment on his exclusion, but tweeted a smiling emoticon from his handle on Friday, 22 November.
The Twitterverse had words of encouragement for Sanju Samson, with some asking him to keep working hard while others expressed remorse on his exclusion.
India is scheduled to play three Twenty 20 Internationals against the West Indies with the series-opener in Mumbai on 6 December followed by matches in Thiruvananthapuram (8 December) and Hyderabad (11 December). The three ODIs will be played in Chennai (15 December), Visakhapatnam (18 December) and Cuttack (22 December).
A fit-again Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to the Indian teams in both formats, while all-rounder Shivam Dube was rewarded with a maiden call-up in the 50-over format.
Senior opener Shikhar Dhawan, despite his poor run of form, gets another go at the top while in-form speedster Mohammed Shami and left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav were back in the shortest format after some time.
