The internet – and more specifically MS Dhoni’s fans – got all kinds of excited when pictures surfaced on Twitter of the former Indian skipper on a kabaddi mat last week.
Finally on Tuesday, Star Sports has released the advertisement for Pro Kabaddi League featuring MS Dhoni. In the 40-second long advertisement, the former Indian captain can be seen playing kabaddi and completing a successful raid.
The video was shared by Star Sports on their Twitter account with the message #MahiRaidMaarRahaHai.
Last week, in a series of photos in which Dhoni is sporting black shorts and a white t-shirt, he’s seen sharing a few laughs with other players as a packed audience watches on. While the pictures did get Twitter hoping the wicket-keeper was picking up a new hobby, a post from his sports management company cleared the air
Rhiti Sports’ Twitter post’s caption read, ‘MS Dhoni on set in Mumbai! #shootday #mahi #dhoni #msd’ implying that the pictures were part of a new advertising campaign.
The cricketer’s hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani also posted a few pictures from the shoot.
Dhoni is currently enjoying some down time after wrapping up the ODI series victory over the Windies at home earlier this month. He elected to make way for Rishabh Pant for the recently-concluded T20 series against the Windies and also next week’s T20s against Australia. The former skipper however will be joining the Indian team for the three-match ODI series in Australia that starts on 12 January in Sydney.
