Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli cast his vote in Gurugram on Sunday, 12 May, and appealed to voters to exercise their franchise.

After casting his vote, he told reporters: "Everyone should come and vote and I urge to all."

Kohli, who came to the polling booth along with his brother, also tweeted a photo after voting and wrote, ‘Voting is your right and responsibility towards nation building. Go vote’.

Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to make the playoffs of the ongoing Indian Premier League for the third year in a row. He will next be leading the Indian team at much-awaited ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales starting 30 May.

All the 10 Lok Sabha seats of Haryana went to the polls amid heightened security in the penultimate phase of general elections.
