Captain Cool MS Dhoni lost his temper for a change on Tuesday ahead of the final over, while India were batting in the second ODI in Adelaide on Tuesday.

It was waterboy Khaleel Ahmed, who was at the receiving end of Dhoni’s ire after the former captain found him walking in the middle of the pitch, while he came out during the drinks break.

Dhoni, who was seen struggling, courtesy the desert-like condition in Adelaide, saw India home in the last over with a signature six to level the three-match series at 1-1. While Dhoni kept on rotating the strike with his singles and doubles, the extreme heat took its toll on the players, as frequent drinks break paused the game on several occasion.

The Khaleel-incident happened during one such drinks break during the final overs of the game. The left-arm seamer had come out to serve drinks to Dinesh Karthik and was seen walking on the pitch, which didn’t make Dhoni happy at all. He was seen telling Khaleel that he could’ve avoided walking on the wicket, while abusing him for his action.

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal, who had gone for the drinks, along with Khaleel, was aware enough and made sure he threw the helmet towards MS Dhoni from the other side of the pitch.

Despite all this, Dhoni kept his cool while batting as his run-a-ball 55 saw the nervy chase end in India’s favour.

Walking on the pitch, can alter the nature of the pitch, which in turn would assist the pacers, something which India couldn’t afford during the final overs as the match went to the wires.
