The commentators need to think of a new reference the next time he comes out to bat: Cheteshwar Pujara has been signed on as the face of a new SBI Life Insurance campaign, and his first big-ticket commercial is a heart-stealer!
The Indian number three – or the new ‘Wall’ of the Indian batting lineup – and wife Puja are seen sharing their life story in this commercial for a new policy being introduced by the insurance company.
The Pujaras provide anecdotes of their journey as a couple, right from their first meeting to the joy of parenting (Cheteshwar and Puja were blessed with a daughter, Aditi, in February 2018).
Puja even recounts her sense of feeling lost at the prospect of a “celebrity” looking to marry a “normal person”, and goes on to tell how the India batsman would win her over with his sweet gestures.
Fittingly, the advertisement was released on the day the couple marked their sixth marriage anniversary, on Wednesday, 13 February.
“He has the same persona, on and off the field,” reveals Puja in a snippet from the commercial. “He is very hardworking, reliable, committed.”
That last bit comes as no surprise to followers of Indian cricket, who now know all too well the value of Cheteshwar Pujara!
