All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was ruled out of India’s ongoing limited overs series against Australia due to “lower back stiffness”, resumed training at Mumbai Indians’ pre-season training camp ahead of IPL 2019 on Tuesday, 12 March.

Pandya was ruled out of the two-T20I and five-ODI series against the visiting Australians as a precautionary measure, and was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja in the 50-over squad.

The seam-bowling all-rounder, along with elder brother and T20 specialist Krunal, joined the Mumbai Indians camp at the Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai.

A senior Mumbai Indians official said that Hardik did “strength endurance training” on Tuesday, but refused to divulge any further information.

Hardik, who has played 11 Tests, 45 ODIs and 38 T20Is, had returned to action during the limited-overs series in New Zealand after being handed a provisional suspension for his sexist remarks on a TV chat show.

The 25-year-old possibly would have played a few matches of the Indian domestic Mushtaq Ali T20 had Baroda qualified for the Super League.
