Former South Africa Test skipper Hashim Amla on Tuesday joined Kings XI Punjab as Shaun Marsh’s replacement, who has been ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury.

Amla, who failed to attract any buyers at this year’s auction despite his impeccable test record seemed fairly excited to join the team as he tweeted.

The 33-year-old has an average of 31.35 in 88 matches at a strike rate of 125.95, including 16 half centuries.

The Kings XI are languishing at the bottom of the IPL standings having only won two of their first seven games.
