Sachin, Chhetri, Others Flood Twitter Post India’s ‘Special Win’

After Indian Football Team skipper Sunil Chhetri issued a rallying call to the fans, supporters turned up in huge numbers in Mumbai to witness India cruise through to the final of the Intercontinental Cup with a convincing 3-0 win over Kenya.

Chhetri couldn't have written a better script for his 100th international game as he struck twice. After the game, the Blue Tigers walked up to the fans and Mumbai's Football Arena echoed the "Hu" chant along with the players.

But the outpouring love was not just restricted to the stadium, as it turns out, Chettri’s emotional appeal to Indians to support the football team resulted in a mega appreciation show across India.

“We promise you that if that’s the kind of support we get every time we play for the country, we will give our lives on the pitch,” Chhetri tweeted after the match.

Cricket veteran Sachin Tendulkar, who too had asked fans to extend their support for the football team, posted a congratulatory message on Twitter.
