Ahead of the Wednesday’s semi-final against Croatia, England has found a new fan in Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. In a video released on Twitter, Sachin can be heard backing the ‘Three Lions’ and want them to play the final against France, who have already qualified after they beat Belgium 1-0 on Tuesday.

England have had a good run in the tournament so far winning four out their five matches. Their young leader Harry Kane and coach Southgate have led the side well. For the first time, England came into the tournament without any expectation after their illustrious squads in the past editions failed to live up to the hype.
England beat Tunisia and Panama in the group stage before losing out to Belgium. In the Round of 16, Colombia took the match to penalties after they score an equaliser in the dying minutes of regular time before Harry Kane successfully converted a penalty to put them ahead. English goalie Pickford was the hero of the penalties, making two saves.
Pickford carried on his good run in the quarter final match against Sweden. England beat the Swedes convincingly to enter the semis for the first time since 1990.
Harry Kane with six goals is leading the race for the ‘Golden Boot’ and looks good to pump in few more against Croatia in the semis.
Interestingly, Sachin is the second cricketer to lend his support to the English side in the ongoing football world cup in Russia. Earlier, Earlier, Indian captain Virat Kohli had also wished the English side a a successful world cup campaign last month before England played their first match of the tournament.
England has won the football world cup only once in 1966.
