The Lodha Panel Committee in the Supreme Court on Thursday will be suggesting that a new layer of administrators be set up above the top brass of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The Supreme Court-appointed Lodha panel, headed by Justice RM Lodha had asked the BCCI to “fall in line” and blocked certain BCCI funds, following their failure to abide by the committee’s recommendations.

Anurag Thakur-led BCCI had claimed that they had “no option” but to call off the India-New Zealand series as their bank accounts had been “frozen”.

The Lodha panel, in its status report submitted to the Supreme Court on 28 September had asked for the sacking of the entire top brass of the board due to non-compliance of their guidelines.
