With Delhi’s pollution level being the number one topic of discussion ahead of the 3-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh, skipper Rohit Sharma has assured BCCI boss Sourav Ganguly that his team is ready to play the series opener on Sunday.

"The BCCI president called the team to check on its well being. The Indian captain has confirmed that the team was fine and had a full outdoor training session without any issue," a BCCI source told PTI on Friday.

Now as the teams look to start the series, here’s a look at how they stack up against each other, statistically at least.

  • India have won all eight matches against Bangladesh between June 6, 2009 and March 18, 2018.  Their tally includes two victories by eight wickets each - both at Dhaka on March 28, 2014 and March 6, 2016.
  • Rohit Sharma, with 356 runs at an average of 44.50, including four fifties, in eight innings, is the top run-getter in T20Is involving India and Bangladesh.
  • Rohit Sharma, with fifteen sixes in eight matches, is the top six-hitter in T20Is involving India and Bangladesh.  For Bangladesh, Sabbir Rahman, with nine sixes in six matches, is the leading six-hitter vs India.
  • The superb match-winning knock of 89 off 61 balls played by Rohit, as skipper, in the Nidahas Twenty20 Tri-Series at Colombo (RPS) on  March 14, 2018 - the highest by an Indian batsman against Bangladesh.
  • Bangladesh's Rubel Hossain (7 wickets at 19.28 runs apiece in four matches) and Al-Amin Hossain (7 wickets at 20.28 in four matches) are the top wicket-takers in T20Is between the two teams.
  • For India, Ravichandran Ashwin, with six wickets at 12.00 in four matches, is the leading wicket-taker against Bangladesh.
  • Five T20I have been contested at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi between March 23, 2016 and November 1, 2017.  Three have been won by the teams batting first and two by batting second.  India (202-3) had defeated New Zealand (149/8) by 53 runs in the only fixture played by them at this venue.
  • Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma had put on 158 for the first wicket vs New Zealand - the highest partnership for any wicket in T20Is at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
  • Three individual scores of 75 or more have been registered at Feroz Shah Kotla Rohit Sharma (80) and Shikhar Dhawan (80) for India vs New Zealand on November 1, 2017 and England's Jason Roy (78) vs New Zealand on March 30, 2016.
  • England's Chris Jordan (4/28 vs Sri Lanka on March 26, 2016) and Ben Stokes (3/26) vs New Zealand on March 30, 2016) are two best performers in bowling in T20Is at this venue.
