India and Australia have played 17 T20Is since their first encounter in the World T20 in 2007. The Men in Blue have been able to come on top in 10 matches, including a 3-0 series sweep Down Under in 2016.

However, the Australians started the three-match T20 series against India on a strong note on Wednesday, 21 November. They beat Virat Kohli’s Indian side by 4 runs.

The World T20 2007 semi-final match in Durban still remains the most exciting India-Australia T20I match.

Yuvraj Singh scored 70 runs off 30 balls to help India post a huge total of 188/5. Thereafter, Matthew Hayden (62) and Andrew Symonds (43) fought hard to take Australia over the line, but the team fell short by 15 runs in the end.

Ravichandran Ashwin set the stage on fire in the 2014 World T20 match in Dhaka. After Australia restricted India to a meagre total of 159/7, the off-spinner picked up figures of 4/11 to help the Men in Blue bundle the Australians for just 86 runs. India won the match by 73 runs.
