Rajasthan Royals is making a comeback to the Indian Premier League after missing two seasons. RR, along with Chennai Super Kings, had been suspended for alleged spot-fixing and betting, and subsequently missed the IPL in 2016 and 2017.
Rajasthan were allowed to retain players from their 2015 roster as well those, who were part of Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions – teams that have now been discontinued. And they chose to pick just Australian captain Steve Smith.
At the start of the auction, the franchise had a salary cap INR 67.5 Crores as well as three Right to Match (RTM) cards.
